What does a 'Flower Shaped Scone' say about you?

Most scones are round - fluted or plain? Sometimes they will be triangular pieces made from one large round! Ever thought what the shapes mean?
When you pick up the round scone cutter, do you think 'wholeness' and 'infinity'? I know I have always just stamped out the scones, hurrying to get them in the oven and baked so I can eat them rather than dwell on the shape. Last week I had a 'moment', those times of thinking rather than doing and I wondered why scones are 99% round.
We have so many cutters available to us, so many different sizes, why not experiment? I appreciate when the scones, lift and fluff in the oven quite a lot of the shape is lost but the sentiment is there and so is a meaning.
The Meaning of Shapes
The Square - the square is a shape people trust, four clear sides, four clear directions:
North | South | East | West
Air | Earth | Fire | Water
The Triangle - a strong personality - fixed angles, scientific.
The Heart - the ultimate symbol of love. Choosing a heart shows compassion!
The Star - a protective symbol, good and positive.
The Flower - and with each push down of the cutter think of a specific flower as every flower in turn has its own significance.
The #Anemone - symbolises anticipation, it brings luck, protects against evil.
The #PinkCarnation - pride & beauty combined with the love of a woman.
#Daisies - new beginnings & innocence.
#Hydrangeas - heartfelt emotion.
And of course the #sunflower - representing warmth, adoration and dedication.
When you decide to go for triangular scones, be strong! Create heart shaped scones for those you love. Share square scones with trusted companions. Bake star scones for your children and give that protection. When you choose to go for a flower shaped scone, whether they are a gift or simply your afternoon treat, smile and with each bite think of every flower you would like to be, every sentiment you wish to have or seek in others.
Next time you are making scones, savoury or sweet perhaps choose a different shaped cutter, one that reflects your style, your mood, your ambition!
